Hope you enjoy this episode, tweeple — we’ll definitely keep our eyes on NextGen in upcoming episodes.

Just noticed that wdw_nextgen is in the url path for the MNSSHP guide map on the wdw website (http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/MNSSHP_map_2010.pdf).
Could NextGen actually be more about integration of web services throughout the parks rather than about new types of queues, etc.? Seems like the display of memories on the castle in 2011 could be part of that.
Hey Tony!
I’ve noticed this too — “nextgen” littered throughout their websites, urls, code. I do wonder if there is a connection. Our current guess is that they titled their recent web improvements, dating back to early 2009, “nextgen”
Just a follow up to how it worked on Pleasure Island with wristbands ect. If you were over 21 you were issued a wristband (standard bar/concert wristband) if you were 18-21 you could enter Pleasure Island on your own but didn’t get a wristband. If you were under 18 you had to have someone over 21 with you and your hand was stamped for being under 18 and you were supposed to stay with your over 21 “buddy”… Theoretically (I never did this of course) if you were under 18 you entered the Island with your friend (or parent) and got your hand stamped then went straight to a washroom and washed your hands now you appeared to be 18-21 and could go anywhere on the Island except the two 21&Over clubs… Like I said not that I would know from personal experience or anything and not really on topic but thought I would mention it.
Wow, this paragraph is pleasant, my younger sister is analyzing these kinds
of things, therefore I am going to inform her.
